The Balbriggan 1916-2016 Commemorative Events

Balbriggan Community Liaison Committee in association with Balbriggan & District Historical Society and the Fingal Old IRA Commemorative Committee wish to announce the Balbriggan 1916 -2016 Commemorative Programme which will run from Monday 2nd May to Sunday 8th May inclusive. There will be a wide range of events during the week and will conclude with an unveiling of a plaque to commemorate Sinead Ni Fhlannagan (De Valera).

Events will include : Craic agus Ceoil in Central Lounge/Bracken Court Hotel, Commemorative Match in O’Dwyers, Historical Seminar organised by Balbriggan & District Historical Society, readings in the library and a Mass followed by a Parade from St Peter & Pauls Church to Quay Street to unveil the plaque.

The Commemorative programme will provide an ideal opportunity for the community in Balbriggan and its surrounding areas to remember 1916 and especially Sinead Ni Fhlannagan(De Valera).
