Balbriggan Historical Society Presents "More Old Memories of Balbriggan."
More Old Memories of Balbriggan, and young Historians
Wednesday 25th October, Town Hall Balbriggan.

Balbriggan and District Historical Society's next talk is Wednesday the 25th of October and will feature May McKeon and also students from Loreto Secondary School. Former County Councillor May, a longtime member of the Society and current committee member, will give a talk called Old Memories of Balbriggan. Anyone who heard May's talk this time last year will know how entertaining she was and will be delighted to hear more. May will share her memories of life in an ever changing Balbriggan and everyone who knows May will agree that this is certainly something to look forward to, especially if you missed the last one.

We are also delighted to welcome some History students from Loreto Secondary School as guest presenters on the night. If other years are anything to go by this is one not to be missed, as it's great to hear such passion for History shown by young people. These students were the winners in a History competition which the Historical Society was happy to judge in the school. The following are the details of the students and their projects:
'Jack Rover McCann' - Hannah Rudden
'Rush Church and Library' - Niamh Daly Alison McGuinness & Rachel Sweetman
'History of Newbridge' - Abbie Hurley
This promises to be a night not to be missed.
Admission is €5, Members free.
Republishing Balbriggan a History in Maps by Frank Whearity
Our publication of Frank Whearity's study Balbriggan a History in Maps 1657-1900 was a huge success last year and has sold out. We are delighted to announce that we have arranged to have it reprinted and it will soon be available again, both from local bookshops and directly from the society.
