Balbriggan Snowman Competition 2018

Well this week Storm Emma met the Beast from the East, we were locked down, locked out and under red alert. Over 4000 Google verified unique users visited the website Balbriggan.net and followed updates from Fingal County Council who it must be said did an exceptional job keeping everything moving as much as possible under exceptional circumstances. Our snowman competition had nearly 3000 followers engaged, we even got 230 new followers on Facebook.

Community spirit was rampant, people checking on and running errands for neighbours. Clearing paths, driveways and roads of snow.

As the snow fell we got closed schools and kids out having fun in the snow building Snow Men, Snow Women, igloos you name it the creations were wonderful. We decided to run a little competition, Build A Snowman we said, we reached out to local business for some prizes and got many. All the photos can be seen on our Facebook page HERE. Over 100 entries we now have whittled down to 24 all below. Soon to be one. Our sponsors have been deliberating all night, style, form, cuteness and popularity were all factors in judging.
