Fianna Fáil TD in Dublin Fingal, Darragh O’Brien has congratulated Cllr Darragh Butler on his successful election of Mayor of Fingal. Councillor Butler, who was first elected to the county council in June 2007, succeeds outgoing mayor Independent Cllr David O’Connor. Deputy O’Brien said: “I am thrilled to congratulate my constituency colleague Fianna Fáil Councillor Darragh Butler on his election of Mayor of Fingal. “Darragh has served on Fingal County Council with energy and passion for almost 10 years. Having worked closely with him through the years, I have seen first-hand his ability and dedication as a public representative in the locality. “I take this opportunity to also pay tribute to the outgoing Mayor, Councillor David O’Connor, who has been extremely successful in his role. His huge sense of community and commitment to his work were vitally important for the wider Fingal area. I also want to recognise the fantastic work of outgoing Deputy Mayor, Councillor Eoghan O’Brien. “I wish Darragh the very best of luck for his forthcoming year in office.”
