89th Bremore Scout Group is now 3 years old. The group was set up to service the growing demand for youth and community facilities in Balbriggan and surrounding area. We are expanding with a new Venture Scout section in September and have taken 23 local children off our waiting list to join Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts this coming September. However we still have over 160 on our waiting list.
All of our sections currently meet in Balbriggan Educate Together National School, but if we had our own Scout Den we would be able to offer scouting to more local children who want it and provide a better experience for the children and young adults in our group already.
With that in mind, we have engaged with Fingal County Council to help identify a suitable location for a permanent building to call our own. We are hosting a Race Night fundraiser on 23rd August in the Bracken Court Hotel to help pay for a feasibility study on a local site. This will be the first major fundraising effort that the group has engaged in and we are looking for your support.
Bremore Scout group currently have over 120 members and come September will have close to 140. Our members enjoy supporting our community with Tidy Towns, Adopt a Plot, Balbriggan Cancer Support Group events, representing at local events and parades. The new County Commissioner for Fingal Scout County is a member of our group. We are active in our community and across Fingal and would dearly love to have your support to help us find a home of our own.
