Glebe Norths Under 11's do the Italian Job!
We are just back from an amazing weekend in Italy where Glebe North Under 11 have been guest of Torino FC. The boys, under the supervision of coaches Roberto Bonello, Ciaran Dunne and Pat Campbell, stayed at Oasi Laura Vicuna, one of the soccer schools of the Seria A club. Two days of intensive football on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th, with a first match against the U11 of Torino Fc on friday afternoon (photo attached). Then on Saturday morning a great training session with the local coaches and, after lunch, they went to a tournament/blitz at one of the best soccer facilities in Torino called Cit Turin, where they played against two other clubs showing some really great football to a big crowd of Italians (2 photos attached on astro). Finally on Sunday, players and parents visited the museum of Grande Torino and the legend of a strong team that tragically lost their lives in the plane crash in 1949 on their way back from the champions league match in Portugal vs Benfica (also a photo attached). Then all in the city centre of Turin for last shopping under a wonderful Italian sunshine, before coming back to Ireland.
