Local Artist Martin Hughes welcomes Fingal County Council 2017 Artists’ Support Scheme.

I am delighted to see Fingal County Council's announcement of the 2017 Artists' Support Scheme. This funding allows professional artists to avail of up to €4,000 of an award towards the development of their work. Far too often are Artists left to their own devices with little support from the State bodies in developing their practice. Fingal County Council Arts Department are a shining beacon in this regard because of their continuing support of Fingal Artists over many Years.
I am grateful for their support in the past in the various exhibitions and projects I have been involved in, and equally delighted each time they step up and offer support to the Artistic community in Fingal. We have an amazing community of Artists in our area, and they are most deserving of the kind of support offered each Year by Fingal county Council. Long May it continue!
