Old Memories and young Historians

Balbriggan & District Historical Society present:
Old Memories of Balbriggan by May McKeon, and talks from Students from Loreto Seconday School, Wed, 26th October at 8 p.m. Town Hall, Balbriggan.

Balbriggan and District Historical Society's next talk is Wednesday the 26th of October and will feature May McKeon and also students from Loreto Secondary School. Former County Councillor May, a longtime member of the Society and current committee member, will give a talk called Old Memories of Balbriggan. She will share her memories of growing up in an ever changing Balbriggan and I'm sure everyone who knows May will agree that this is certainly something to look forward to.

We are also delighted to welcome some History students from Loreto Secondary School as guest presenters on the night. If other years are anything to go by this is one not to be missed, as it's great to hear such passion for History shown by young people. These students were the winners in a History competition which the Historical Society was happy to judge in the school. The speakers and projects they will speak about are as follows: Priyanka Cottacoopen - History and Culture of Mauritius, Melanie Fidel - History of Balbriggan, Orlagh Beggs - History of Rush and Femi Kasim - History and Culture of Nigeria
The talks will take place in the Town Hall Balbriggan at 8pm and admission is €5, Members free.
