Wearing only a dickey bow, Hundreds of men dip in the nip at Skerries South Beach.


Hundreds of brave men & supporters from all across Ireland joined in the event at the beach in Skerries wearing just a dickie bow, wading into the freezing cold Irish Sea, those dipping have raised raise vital funds to help fund the replacement of radiology equipment which is vital for diagnosing all kinds of cancer and in particular prostate cancer.



This vital equipment will change the way in which we treat men’s cancer by enabling medical intervention in the cancer journey at the earliest possible stage.

The Dickie Dip is a life-affirming skinny-dip fundraiser for male cancer care in the Mater Public Hospital, which took place on the 5th of November 2022 in Skerries.

Hundreds of men wading into the sea water wearing only a dickie bow they are making a life-saving difference for prostate cancer patients. Proceeds raised will go towards state-of-the-art prostate cancer screening equipment in the Mater Public Hospital.
