As a photographer, you spend years waiting for "the shot," but I never thought I’d actually witness the Bremore-Lowth Linear Alignment. Know localy as Pool Rails.
For those who don't know the local geography, you physically cannot see the lighthouse from the depth of this tunnel. The angles just don't work... except for today. Due to the specific tilt of the Earth’s axis on March 31st leading into April 1st, combined with the extreme low spring tide, a rare refraction event occurs.
I headed down at 6:15 AM, and for exactly 47 seconds, the tunnel, the Pool Rails, and the lighthouse snapped into a perfect geometric line. I barely had time to level the tripod before the light shifted and the lighthouse vanished behind the stone wall again.
